Taper Jean Girl made her debut in a hot maiden at Kempton tonight. Lined up against some terrifically well bred fillies, she showed that she can mix it with the best. Drawn in the middle, she broke reasonably well, and was settled in the middle of the pack, towards the rail by Andrea Atzeni. She found a few traffic problems rounding the bend and had to be shaken up 3 furlongs out, but as the 2 Godolphin fillies battled for the win with the $850,000 Giant's Causeway of Newsells Park Stud, the £28,000 Elusive City filly was the one to emerge from the pack to give chase and show what a tough and genuine filly she is. Taper Jean Girl will come on from this run, and we expect more to come from her next time out.
