| Audemar returned to action tonight after a 10 week lay-off, due to the training yard being laid low by a virus. He was certainly ready for the race, and was a little over-excited going down to post. This showed at the start when he missed the break (and almost decapitated the jockey in the process!), and lost 2-3 lengths. Jamie settled him in last place, 8-9 lengths of the leader. Coming into the final bend he gradually moved up through the pack along the rail, but then again found some trouble and was checked twice, before finally finding space and finishing very strongly, making up 7 lengths in the final 2 furlongs, and losing out on 3rd by a neck. Considering the difficulties, we are all very pleased with his performance, and are very excited for his next race. |
